Added a robust new component for upselling products
Implemented mobile-first design process (82% mobile traffic)
I worked with an in-house designer to refresh Nomadโs e-commerce site. With the Grill and Smoker soon-to-be back-in-stock, Nomad wanted to focus on increasing order value from the product page.
Research
I conducted competitive research, and found that most e-commerce sites lean heavily on a loosely connected related products section. We wanted to create a more connected shopping experience.
Plan
I had worked with Nomad previously to roll out tiered bundles to their store. This helped us quantify the effects of curating products together. I identified key opportunities for a new product-driven component. This component would cover adding additional products in 3 key places: the product page, within the cart, and on their recipes. With this component, we also introduced a static state for listing products included in bundles.
Execution
This component increased AOV (average order value) by 14% within the first 30 days of launch. This project met our goal and will continue to increase the AOV with the Grill & Smoker back in stock. This project also improved my ability to communicate and implement useful patterns in a component system.
